Question:
Has anyone had a chance to view the new OPI South American collection in person?
I spotted it at Ulta the other day and the colors are so much prettier in person
than on the OPI website! I picked up two: Vanilla-zuela and Chile o Caliente.
The Vanilla-zuela is a nice warm nude cream. I applied it to fingers last night
and it's so similar to my natural skintone that from far away, it looks like I
don't have fingernails! I think this will be much more flattering in
spring/summer when my hands have a bit more color.
Chile o Caliente is on toes right now and I am loving it! It's a vibrant
coral-red that flashes pink. It looks great now on my pale winter toes, but I
think it'll look even better in the spring/summer. This is a *great* color and
highly recommended for you fans of warm reds! Definite rave!
I'm trying to remember my impressions of the other colors I saw.... Dulce de
Leche looked surprisingly cool-toned in the bottle - kind of like Nomad's Dream
without the shimmer (and a bit less mauve). Argenteeny Pinkini was gorgeous - I
talked myself out of buying it because pinks usually don't work with my
skintone, but I may go back for another look. Galapa-ghost was a pretty pale
white and I nearly got that instead of the Vanilla-zuela, but I wasn't really in
the mood for white polish. The Thrill Of Brazil was RED! Way red. What my mom
would call "hussy red". So if that's your thing, definitely check it out!
Can't really remember what the other colors looked like, but there was lots of
pink, coral and red. My pick is the Chile o Caliente - awesome spring/summer
shade for toes. I love this so much, I'm almost tempted to stock up.
Answer:
-The collection just arrived at my salon and I have AP on right now. It's a
fresh change from the dark reds and maroons I have been wearing all winter and
it's giving me spring fever. Which is not a bad thing.
-I just bought Peru-B-Ruby. It's a bright, dark fuschia with the same
shimmer that Waitress and Bogota Blackberry have. It's gorgeous!
Great for spring
-I bought Argenteeny Pinkini (sort of a cross between Shanghai Shimmer and
Nomad's Dream, to my eye) and Senorita Rose-alita (a dark pink, almost fuscia,
that reflects gold).
