I know the credit card was included in the bankruptcy but what about the collection agency?

Question:
My ch7 was discharged in August 2002 but my credit reports are showing a credit card account (sold to a collection agency) with a past due balance. I know the credit card was included in the bankruptcy but what about the collection agency? Since they weren't listed do I need to pay this account? My credit reports from Experian and Equifax both list this account with the collection agency as "Seriously past due". Thanks in advance.

Answer:
Your bankruptcy discharged this debt, no matter how often it is sold (and resold). Send the collection agency and the credit reporting agency a copy of your discharge and your Schedule F showing the creditor and ask the former to go away and the later to fix its records.
