Question:
Can anyone tell me what might be a ballpark value for a collection of 200+
classical 78 RPM sets? Most are multi-disk and include a large number of
Caruso recordings.
Thanks for any advice you can provide,
Answer:
There are some rare Caruso records, but most are quite common because they sold well when they
were new. The condition of the record (groove wear, scratches, etc.) is important too. My best advice
would be to find a local collector who could come out and have a look at the records. They may not
be worth much at all, but there's always a collector who's willing to check them out, on the off chance
that something worthwhile may turn up! (I'd do it myself, but you're a long way from New Hampshire.)
